The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, has advertised more than 14,000 teacher vacancies for various positions in line with the Career Progression Guideline, CPG.
The TSC has further invited applications for the chairperson and member of the Audit Committee, an organ that reviews financial statements and reports. In an advert in local dailies, TSC asked qualified persons to apply for four vacancies for chief principal-Teacher Training Colleges.
TSC further advertised 13,713 positions for principals, deputy principals, senior masters, secondary teachers, head teachers, and deputy head teachers in secondary and primary schools. The commission also announced 1,021 vacancies for teachers to be deployed as principals, deputy principals, head teachers, and deputy’s head teachers in Arid and Semi-Arid Lands and Hard-to-Staff counties.
It named the Asals and Hard-to-Staff counties as Baringo, Garissa, Homa Bay, Isiolo, Kajiado, Kilifi Kitui, Kwale, Lamu, Madera, Marsabit, Narok, Samburu, Taita Taveta, Tana River, Turkana, Wajir, and West Pokot.
Principal (D3/T-SCALE 13) – 25 Posts
Requirements For Appointment
To qualify for appointment to this grade, a teacher must: –
- Currently assigned by the Commission to perform the duties of Principal at T-Scale 12 (D2)
- Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process
- Meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution and meet any other requirements deemed necessary by the Commission
Deputy Headteacher II (C4/T-SCALE 9) – 195 posts
Requirements For Application
To qualify for appointment to this grade, a teacher must: –
- Be currently assigned by the Commission to perform the duties of Deputy Headteacher at T-Scale 8 (C3);
- Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;
- Meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution; and
- Meet any other requirements deemed necessary by the Commission.
Senior Teacher I (C3/T-SCALE 8) – 223 Posts
Requirements For Appointment
To qualify for appointment to this grade, a teacher must: –
- Be currently assigned by the Commission to perform the duties of Deputy Headteacher at T-Scale 7
- Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;
- Meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution; and
- Meet any other requirements deemed necessary by the Commission.
Senior Teacher II
Requirements For Application
- Be currently assigned by the Commission to perform the duties of Deputy Headteacher at T-Scale 6 (C1)
- Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process
- Meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution
- Meet any other requirements deemed necessary by the Commission.
Head Teacher (C5/T-SCALE 10) – 62 posts
- Be currently assigned by the Commission to perform the duties of Headteacher at T-Scale 9 (C4);
- Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;
- Meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution; and
- Meet any other requirements deemed necessary by the Commission.
