Martha Karua has rebranded her NARC Kenya party to People’s Liberation Party (PLP), perhaps having been born out of the Gen Zs agenda of liberating Kenya from the hands of angry, hungry, and vicious politicians who seem determined to eat us alive.
The rebranding of NARC Kenya comes at a time Kenya is in dire need of someone who will stand firm and face William Ruto, the once chicken farmer who has graduated into being a President and the Jack of all Trades within and without Kenya, and tell him that enough is enough.
Many have formed opinions about Martha Karua, but the woman has a record. A record of not entertaining nonsense. And perhaps this is what sets her apart from the other hungry hyenas, and perhaps this is the reason many don’t want her anywhere near the house on the hill.
Every year, we have crucified Martha Karua, associating her with the dusk swearing in of Emilio Stanley Mwai Kibaki in 2007, a contested election that led to massive bloodshed. Interestingly, we have never crucified and condemned Mwai Kibaki in the same breath.
I wonder why we should pretend to be so holy that we cannot elect Martha Karua due to her role in 2007 elections, when we woke up at 2 am to go and vote for two International Criminals who had been condemned by the ICC. We voted for ICC suspects.
I wonder why we want to play Pope when we elected a known thief, someone who everyone warned us about, but we ended up electing him President, and now we are screaming like mad dogs. Jamaa anafinya kufinya.
Since we are used to electing criminals, and we consider Martha Karua just as another politician, why not try her out? She might be worse in your eyes, but compare her with Raila Odinga, the man who only cares about his interests, compare her to Uhuru Kenyatta, and now compare her to William Ruto. Between William Ruto and Martha Karua, who would you go for?
For once, let us use our heads. Let us drop our tribal baggage and see the bigger picture. Can we try out this lady and see what she does? Or are you afraid that she will go after your thieving tribal gods and goddesses?
