M-Shwari Dismisses Fraud Allegations, Says Claims Are Inaccurate

M-Shwari has dismissed allegations of fraudulent activity circulating on social media, stating that the claims are factually incorrect and inconsistent with its customer account records.

In a position statement issued on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, the mobile savings and loans platform said it had taken note of online commentary alleging fraud on an account held by a customer identified as Brian Aballah. Following an internal review, M-Shwari confirmed that its Customer Experience team had engaged directly with the customer in question and found no evidence to support the allegations.

“The allegations are factually incorrect and inconsistent with the customer account records,” the statement said, adding that the company has requested that the claims to be withdrawn and that further circulation of the statements to cease.

M-Shwari emphasized that it operates under the regulation of the Central Bank of Kenya and is trusted by millions of Kenyans with their savings. The platform reiterated its commitment to safeguarding customer funds and providing reliable financial services.

The company also reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and constructive engagement, encouraging customers to contact its support teams directly should they wish to review their account records or resolve any genuine discrepancies.
