Dr. Aysha Edwards has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of AAR Hospital, effective Thursday 9th November 2023.

With over a decade of experience, Dr. Edwards steps into this role, marking a significant milestone for the hospital and healthcare landscape in Kenya.

She joins the ranks of the few female CEOs at the helm of major hospitals in the country, signaling a positive shift towards gender diversity and inclusion in healthcare leadership. 

With a distinguished background in leadership roles both locally and internationally, Dr. Edwards brings a wealth of expertise in strategic planning, operational excellence, and a strong commitment to patient-centered care. Her appointment underscores AAR Hospital’s strategic move to raise its standards and contribute significantly to the growth of the healthcare sector.

Having played a crucial role in the commissioning of the hospital as the Head of Clinical Services, Dr. Edwards has a proven track record of championing patient satisfaction, enhancing operational efficiency, and spearheading the expansion of services into new areas. Before joining AAR Hospital in 2020, she served as an Emergency Medicine Doctor and acted as the Director of Medical Services and Research at The Nairobi Hospital during the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.
