The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, wishes to fill vacant positions internally following the exits of Staff. All applications are invited from qualified serving officers to fill the posts.

Director- Teacher Management( field services/discipline).

Requirements for appointment

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: –

  1. Served in the grade of Deputy Director, Teacher Management, for a minimum period of three (3) years or in a comparable position for a continuous period of fifteen (15) years;
  2. Bachelor of Education or Bachelor’s degree and a Post Graduate

Diploma in Education from a recognized institution;

  1. Masters of Education from a recognized institution;
  2. Certificate in Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
  3. Certificate in computer application skills
  4. Met the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution; and
  5. Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Duties and responsibilities

  1. Coordinating the development and implementation of policies, strategies, and procedures on discipline and field services;
  2. Spearheading compliance with Teachers Service Commission regulations and policies to enhance teacher and staff discipline;
  3. Overseeing the development and maintenance of the discipline database;
  4. Developing the operational plan for the field offices;
  5. Coordinating the management of discipline functions in the field;
  6. Handling and responding to queries and issues from the field offices;
  7. Preparing and presenting proposals to the Commission on matters affecting discipline and field services for direction and guidance.
  8. Providing leadership in mentoring and coaching of Directorate staff; spearheading the development of the Directorate’s work plans and budgets; overseeing appraisal of staff in the Directorate; and
  9. Ensuring optimal utilization of allocated resources in the Directorate.

The terms and remuneration benefits for this Grade:

  1. Basic Salary Scale: Kshs.328,006 – Kshs.416,568
  2. House Allowance: Kshs.60,000
  3. Commuter Allowance: Kshs.20,000
  4. Leave Allowance: As provided in TSC Secretariat
  5. Annual Leave: 30 working days per calendar year
  6. Medical Cover: As provided in the TSC Secretariat Medical Scheme

Director Operations TSC Job Grade 3

Requirements for appointment

Served in the Grade of Deputy Director in any of the following Directorates

Staffing, Field Services, Quality Assurance and Standards, Finance and Accounts, Administration Services, Legal, Labour and Industrial Relations or Human Resource Management and Development for a minimum period of three (3) years

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate the preparation and presentations of Board Papers and Briefs
  2. Coordinate and liaise with the relevant stakeholders on behalf of the office of the Commission Secretary;
  3. Make a follow-up on all instructions issued by the Commission Secretary and initiate action points as appropriate feedback;
  4. Advisor to the Commission Secretary and the Senior Management Team on the operations of the Commission
  5. Review and ensure quality control and high-quality standards of all outputs and communication including reports and presentations that emanate from the Commission Secretary;
  6. Participate in or lead task forces, working groups, and meetings on behalf of the Commission Secretary;
  7. Represent the Commission Secretary in the Committees of the Board
