Sidian Bank Unveils Its 49th Branch In Olkalou

Sidian Bank has announced the opening of its 49th branch, an ultra-modern and executive banking hall located in Nyandarua County along the Gilgil-Nyahururu highway.

This milestone marks a significant step in Sidian Bank’s ambitious expansion strategy in delivering exceptional financial services to customers and entrepreneurs in the broader Mt. Kenya region and its surrounding areas.

Sidian Bank Branch is more than just an expansion; it represents a strategic move in the Bank’s mission to bring exceptional financial services closer to underserved communities in the Agri-sectors and entrepreneurs in the region.

The branch’s location in the heart of the Mt. Kenya region positions it to cater to a vibrant economic hub known for its thriving agribusiness, trade, and emerging SME sectors. This prime location ensures convenience by providing accessible banking services to support local businesses and community initiatives.

Sidian Bank recorded a remarkable 92 percent increase in profit after tax for the first half of 2025, soaring to KSh 1.01 billion from KSh 523 million a year earlier. This strong performance was driven by a 42.8 percent rise in net interest income and a 136.6 percent surge in non-interest income that lifted total operating income to KSh 3.55 billion.

“Establishing our presence here is, therefore, not only strategic; it is purposeful. It reflects our commitment to bringing banking closer to the people, where businesses are thriving, and where communities are building their future. This launch is a significant step in reinforcing our mission to be the Home of Biashara Banking,” said Sidian Bank CEO Mr Chege Thumbi.

“This new Sidian Bank branch is more than just a financial institution; it is a partner in Nyandarua’s journey to economic transformation. By supporting our farmers, traders, and small businesses with accessible credit and quality banking services, Sidian Bank is helping us unlock the full potential of our people and resources,” Dr H.E. Moses Kiarie Ndirangu Badilisha, Governor of Nyandarua County, said.

The strategic location of the Olakalou Branch strengthens Sidian Bank’s footprint in the central Kenya region, enhancing its ability to deliver seamless, innovative banking solutions and accessibility to tailored financial solutions across Kenya’s key economic zones. The bank continues to invest in physical branch networks alongside digital innovations, ensuring customers can access services in the way that suits them best.

In attendance during the launch was Ms. Loise Mwangi, Sidian Bank’s Head of Branches, who expressed pride in the team’s efforts to bring quality banking services closer to the people of Nyandarua. The ceremony was presided over by Pastor David Muchungu of ACK St. Peter Region, who offered prayers and blessings for the branch’s success and positive impact on the community.
