Schneider Electric Launches Next-Generation PrismaSeT Switchboards in East Africa

Schneider Electric has introduced its new PrismaSeT range of power distribution switchboards to the East African market, aiming to meet the region’s rising demand for reliable, safe, and scalable energy management solutions.

The new line features two models: the PrismaSeT G and PrismaSeT P. The PrismaSeT G is a compact unit, either wall-mounted or floor-standing, with ratings of up to 630A and 25kA. It is designed for mid-sized commercial premises and light industrial applications, where efficiency and safety are key. The larger PrismaSeT P, a floor-standing system rated up to 4,000A and 100kA, is built for energy-intensive industries, large commercial complexes, hospitals, and data centres.

“East African businesses need smart and future-ready electrical infrastructure to support their growth and minimize downtime,” said Geraldine Sande, Channel Sales Leader at Schneider Electric East Africa. “The PrismaSeT range is modular, safe, and adaptable, helping customers manage energy more efficiently while ensuring business continuity.”

The PrismaSeT switchboards are fully type-tested for reliability and operator safety. Their reinforced frames allow them to perform in tough environments such as manufacturing plants, mining sites, and hospitals where uninterrupted power is critical.

One of the key differentiators of the PrismaSeT range is its built-in cloud connectivity. Facility managers can track power usage in real time, receive alerts, monitor system health, and detect voltage issues remotely. This allows for proactive energy management, preventative maintenance, and reduced operating costs. For data centres and other critical services, this visibility ensures uptime and operational resilience.

The switchboards can also be equipped with HeatTag, Schneider Electric’s AI-powered fire prevention technology. HeatTag detects early signs of cable overheating by monitoring air quality inside the switchboard, identifying risks before conventional sensors pick them up.

In addition, PrismaSeT boards are designed for fast installation. Predefined mounting and front plates align seamlessly with Schneider Electric’s circuit breakers, reducing installation time by up to 20% compared to conventional systems. Their modular design makes it easy to expand or reconfigure as business needs evolve, allowing organizations to scale their infrastructure cost-effectively.

The PrismaSeT G and P are also compatible with Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure architecture, ensuring full integration into smart energy management systems.

With East Africa’s industries and infrastructure growing rapidly, Schneider Electric’s PrismaSeT series offers businesses a flexible and future-proof power distribution solution.
