Safaricom is turning 25, and the telco has rolled out a massive “Shangwe @ 25” promotion to reward its loyal customers and their communities.

Here’s the scoop on the grand giveaway:

What Is Shangwe @ 25?

The campaign celebrates 25 years of Safaricom transforming lives in Kenya. It’s not just about individual winners — there’s a community impact element: when someone wins, they also get to direct KSh 250,000 toward a project in their community.

The promotion runs from its launch (early November) through to 19 January 2026. Across the campaign, over 5 million customers will win various prizes.

What Are the Big Prizes?

25 grand winners: Each will receive KSh 1,000,000 + KSh 250,000 for a community project of their choosing.

For small/micro businesses: 25 businesses will win Bajaj tricycles to boost mobility and trade.

Every week, five small businesses will win stock worth KSh 250,000.

For medium and large enterprises: 15 will each get KSh 500,000 to support community initiatives.

Instant & smaller prizes: Daily and weekly awards include M-PESA cash, data bundles, airtime, mobile devices, 5G routers, and more.

Green Box surprise: As part of the festive season, Safaricom will deliver “Green Boxes” with surprise gifts — from devices to live animals like chickens, goats, and sheep.
