Rubis To Start Distributing Books In Rural Kenya

RUBiS Energy Kenya in partnership with the Ajuma Foundation have embarked on a book donation drive to support and enable literacy levels in underprivileged communities through the distribution of essential learning tools. The partnership is dedicated to enhancing the educational landscape through the donation of exercise books to students in remote and marginalized areas.

Jean-Christian Bergeron, RUBiS Energy East Africa Group CEO and Managing Director, shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “Our partnership with Ajuma Foundation aligns with our commitment to social responsibility, particularly in education. We are dedicated to providing support to communities facing challenges, ensuring that children have the learning resources they need for a brighter future.”

The founder of Ajuma Foundation, Ajuma Nasanyana, expressed gratitude for the support from RUBiS Energy Kenya, saying, “With RUBiS Energy’s partnership, we have been able to extend our reach significantly, bringing critical educational resources to some of the most remote areas. Our collective efforts are making a real difference in the lives of thousands of students.”

Since 2021, Ajuma Foundation, has distributed essential learning materials to students in 33 public primary schools across 19 counties, including Turkana, West Pokot, Samburu, Isiolo, and Nyanza.

The upcoming donation drive will commence at Mathare North Primary School in Nairobi, which was severely affected by recent floods. This event will see the donation of 5,000 books, marking the beginning of a broader initiative aimed at extending support to the Nyanza and Coast regions, further showcasing the commitment of both organizations to supporting education.
