Procera Gin, Kenya’s premier locally produced alcoholic gin, is excited to announce an exhilarating mixology competition designed to showcase the skills of local mixologists.
The competition kicked off in October 2024, after bar judging the submissions the field will be reduced to 12 finalists who will be invited to a boot camp with Industry legend John Gakuru. Culminating 6 going to a thrilling finale in December when the winner will be announced.
The grand prize? An all-expenses-paid trip to New Orleans for the renowned Tales of the Cocktail annual event where our winner will attend seminars and events, thanks to Procera Gin and the scholarship foundation from TOTC
Tales of the Cocktail is the drinks industry’s annual meeting place for exchanging new ideas, products, and techniques featuring in-person education, tastings, networking, and awards programming.
Procera Gin, in partnership, with Bartales East Africa, aims to empower mixologists across the nation, instilling confidence and inspiring them to share their unique talents on a global stage. Procera Gin, which has gained recognition in key European markets, is committed to elevating the Kenyan spirits industry and fostering local creativity.

The competition will invite participants to create innovative cocktails featuring Procera Gin, with a panel of esteemed judges evaluating their creativity, presentation, and flavor profiles. The selected mixologists will be drawn from Procera Gin, listed outlets in Nairobi. The selected winner will join the global mixology community at Tales of the Cocktail in July 2025, where they will have the chance to network, learn, and share their passion for mixology with peers from around the world.
