Pepsi Bottling Ventures Kenya Seals Supply Deal With Skyward Airlines

Pepsi Bottling Ventures Beverages Kenya has signed an exclusive partnership with Skyward Airlines to supply its beverage portfolio across all the carrier’s routes, in a move that underscores the soft drink maker’s push into new consumer channels.

Under the agreement, passengers on Skyward flights will now enjoy Pepsi products, including Mirinda, Mountain Dew, 7UP, Sting, and Aquafina, which will become the sole soft drink and water options served on board.

Skyward Airlines, which operates approximately 547 flights each month carrying about 26,000 passengers across 11 domestic and regional routes, said the partnership enhances its onboard offering while aligning with passenger demand for internationally recognized brands.

The deal gives Pepsi wider visibility in Kenya’s growing travel and hospitality market. Government data shows passenger traffic in the country reached 5.32 million in 2024, highlighting the sector’s recovery and potential as a consumer channel for beverage makers.

Pepsi’s collaboration with Skyward adds to its broader strategy of expanding distribution beyond traditional retail outlets and into lifestyle-driven spaces, from restaurants to airlines, as competition in Kenya’s soft drinks market intensifies.
