Mi Vida Homes today announced the successful completion of Mi Vida at Garden City, a mid-market housing development that is its first in a planned KES 12 billion investment roll-out in Nairobi. The completion paves way for the developer’s other planned projects within Garden City and other affordable nodes in Nairobi.

Mi Vida at Garden City consists of 221 apartments located in the larger 47-acre mixed-use Garden City that encompasses retail, residential and commercial spaces.

The project achieved 1.93 million safe man-hours without fatalities or serious injury, a key focus area under the developer’s ESG program.

“We completed the project within a duration of 21 months at the desired quality level and with zero fatalities, despite most of the execution phase being disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The mid-market homes are an enriching addition to our 47-acre mixed-use development. Residents will be able to enjoy the lifestyle benefits that come with such an ecosystem,” said Mi Vida Homes CEO Samuel Kariuki.

Mr. Kariuki added that the entry of institutional developers, such as Mi Vida Homes, into the market enhances the much-needed trust and credibility from a customer perspective. The timely delivery of this project, he noted, speaks to this.

Mi Vida Homes Board member Koome Gikunda said: “We are proud to be handing over this project to our customers within a relatively short period of launching the residential platform in Kenya. The project validates our views on the investment potential for developing affordable and mid-market homes to address the growing demand in Kenya and the region”.

Recently, Mi Vida Homes announced that they had secured land for the development of 800 affordable housing units in the Riruta suburb of Nairobi County.
