On Wednesday, Victor Kagema, Managing Partner at 3Verse Kenya – Safaricom’s lead strategy and marketing agency – took the stage at the Safaricom Quarterly SIG Forum to empower SMEs with actionable branding strategies to help them attract and retain corporate clients.

Held at Safaricom Headquarters, the forum targeted young women and differently abled business owners and was attended by Safaricom teams and partner agencies.

Since 2016, Safaricom has aligned itself with 9 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The company’s Supply Chain department specifically adopted 5 SDGs, including SDG 10 which focuses on reducing inequalities.

As such, this SIG Forum is part of Safaricom’s ongoing initiative to champion diversity and inclusion in its supply chain, in line with SDG 10. Through this initiative, special interest group suppliers are identified, mentored, and empowered to grow their businesses and scale their impact.

As one of the mentors at the forum, Kagema emphasised the importance of building a powerful brand that resonates with corporate clients while also aligning business objectives to those of the client, qualities that have set 3Verse apart in the market, as it continues to launch innovative campaigns for Safaricom.

“Companies like Safaricom are actively looking for diverse and innovative suppliers. It’s inspiring to see them not only seeking but empowering young women and differently abled entrepreneurs,” said Kagema. “At 3Verse, we’re proud to walk this journey with them as they lead the way in diversity and inclusion to empower this group that is shaping Kenya’s future.”

Most recently, 3Verse won four awards – one Silver and three Bronze — at the Pitcher Awards 2025 for Safaricom campaigns Shine Kenya and Sambaza Furaha.

Launched in November 2024 as a festive campaign, Sambaza Furaha kicked off by supporting communities ravaged by floods in Mai Mahiu before expanding to the rest of the county. The campaign integrated sustainability efforts by focusing on uplifting communities and giving back through initiatives like feeding programs, gifting, free medical camps, and digital skills workshops.

On the other hand, Shine Kenya rewarded loyal customers with prizes while also supporting community development projects across the country. As part of the campaign, 3Verse created a brand-new anthem to capture the joy and impact of Safaricom in the lives of Kenyans – written by Nyashinski and produced by Cedo.

Beyond Kenya, 3Verse also won four Silver awards for its campaign for the South African insurance company 1Life at the Pitcher Awards. These Pan-African awards honour agencies and brands for exceptional campaigns.

“These wins reaffirm 3Verse’s brand identity as a hot house of African creativity, whether we’re building innovative campaigns that help Safaricom realise its vision of becoming Africa’s leading purpose-led tech company by 2030 or crafting deeply human, emotionally charged stories for 1Life Insurance in South Africa,” Kagema said.
