KICTANet, in partnership with the UK Government, has been at the forefront of pushing for digital access programs among Kenyan communities, especially those that have long been left out of major digital infrastructures such as those from Mandera.

Having the Access To Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPO) is a dream for many small businesses in Kenya. Without this certificate, it is almost impossible to win a tangible tender from the government. Many have been locked out from such opportunities.

How can one access this vital document?

First, register your business. Registering a business or a business name in Kenya is the easiest task that one can do without dropping a sweat. Head to the e-Citizen program, go to the Registrar of Companies, and register your business.

Second, get your KRA PIN and a Tax Compliance Certificate. Both can be found from the Kenya Revenue Authority free of charge.

Third, obtain certification from relevant bodies. You can secure a business permit from the county government of your residence.
