352 bright students from vulnerable households are set to join Form One following the sponsorship from the Tufuzu na Elimu program by The Family Group Foundation which set aside KES 90 million on scholarships for students joining high school this year.
The scholarships, to students from 34 counties and 66 constituencies will cater for full Tuition Fees, School Uniforms, and Boarding Fees. The Scholarship Beneficiaries will also receive soft-skills training through annual Mentorship Workshops and Academic Boot Camps.
In attendance during the commissioning event were the Ministry of Education Director General Elyas Abdi Jillaow, Family Bank Chairman Dr. Wilfred Kiboro, CEO Designate Nancy Njau and The Family Group Foundation Board Chairman Dr. Francis Muraya and Board Directors Muema Muindi and Annie Muya.
“Over the last 12 years, we have been intentional in ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education for all by impacting the very society we operate in. Through the Tufuzu na Elimu program, we have impacted more than 1200 beneficiaries countrywide and invested over KES 300 million in the education sector”, said Family Bank CEO Designate Nancy Njau.
