Electronics manufacturer LG Electronics, its distributor partner Opalnet Ltd, and retail giant Naivas met on the football pitch in the spirit of friendly competition at Sameer Business Park, showcasing the power of football to unite.
The high-tempo match saw Naivas triumph with a 4–1 victory over the combined LG/Opalnet team. Despite the scoreline, players on both sides displayed grit, teamwork, and plenty of flair on the pitch.
“Sports bring out the best characteristics that embody corporate ideals such as determination and teamwork. Today, we were reminded that competition can be a good platform for connection. This tournament has gone a long way to strengthening our partnership with Naivas and helped both our teams to bond further,” said Donghun Lee, President for East Africa, LG Electronics.
Naivas echoed the same sentiments with Chief of Administration, Charles Mukuha, emphasizing that the tournament reflects the company’s philosophy of community and collaboration.
“This was a football match in celebration of unity and togetherness. When our teams met on the pitch, they did so with the values that drive us every day to deliver value to our customers while uplifting each other. We are thrilled to have shared this platform with LG East Africa and look forward to many more opportunities that bring us closer together,” said Mr. Mukuha.
Winners took home a variety of prizes from LG Electronics, including a 4K UHD TV and the XBoom portable Bluetooth speakers.
The spectators were also winners thanks to the lively entertainment and interactive zones where spectators sampled products and offerings from Bio Foods, Naivas, and LG Electronics.
“This is the first of many initiatives that bring us closer to our partners and create a wider ecosystem that also embraces their partners. By coming together in this way, we are only strengthening our business relationships and building a culture of collaboration that benefits everyone involved. Activities like today’s match allow us to showcase products in complementary categories and spark fresh ideas on how we can deliver even greater value to our customers,” added Mr. Lee.
