Tanzania has many historical facts, but no one anticipated that at one point in time and life, Tanzania would give Africa the first brutal female dictator in the name of Samia Suluhu Hassan.
During the week, Samia Suluhu Hassan ordered the total burn and shutdown of X (Twitter) over same lame reasons that it was corrupting Tanzanians through porn, but the truth is, she did so because she is scared and terrified.
Tongues have been wagging ever since the soft-spoken dictator arrested and charged with treason the leader of the main opposition party, Chadema, Tundu Lissu. Lissu has been held incommunicado as the woman continues to cook charges that will see him sentenced to death.
At the same time, the woman personally ordered the arrest, detention, and the rape of two activists; Boniface Mwangi from Kenya and Agather from Uganda. Their crime? They had flown to Tanzania in solidarity with Tundu Lissu.
She deported Kenyan law veterans such as Martha Karua and Willy Mutunga and her equally clueless CCM party leaders and MPs called for the rape of such dignitaries as Martha Karua.
Samia Suluhu has been ordering the kidnapping, raping, and the killing of Tanzanians who dare speak against her dictatorial regime. As elections in Tanzania approach, the woman has continued to grow more paranoid and more brutal.
Why is Samia Suluhu Hassan scared?
One, she has never won anything, including the Presidency. She won a “jackpot” after the death of John Pombe Magufuli. When Magufuli died, the Constitution of Tanzania dictates that the Vice President takes over. And she was the Vice President then. She took over the presidency and got so much power without knowing how to use it.
Two, she knows if she fails CCM, which has been in power for decades (KANU of Tanzania), the oligarchs within the party who have feasted on Tanzanians for years will not let her breathe and might even eliminate her. That thought terrifies her.
Three, social media makes her sweat from all the holes on her body because, unlike the use of an army, social media users cannot be controlled unless the platforms are shut down. She knows that most Tanzanians are ignorant, and social media will enlighten many of them and so she wants them to remain fools.
But how can a mother be so evil?
Samia Suluhu Hassan might be a mother to her son or any other kids she might be having, but she is no mother to anyone else outside her circle. She speaks slowly, walks slowly, smiles slowly, but carries a big stick that clobbers Tanzanians like a mburukenge.
Real mothers in Tanzania have had their kids killed, abducted, mutilated, and raped. But their cries can’t even shake Samia, because her heart is made of stone and her survival depends on how much blood flows in the streets.
