The Teachers Service Commission, (TSC) has completed the process of affecting the April 2022 transfers for both classroom teachers and school administrators.
According to TSC, the process status of the 2022 TSC transfers is 100 percent complete. The latest details indicate that they initiated the process of dispatching the 2022 transfer letters to respective sub-counties and schools of the affected teachers.
Teacher’s transfers have been incubated for a long to avoid disputing the 2021 national examination that was recently concluded.
Now that KCPE/KCSE exams are over, the affected teachers will be smoothly transferred from their current stations to the new ones indicated on the transfer letters without any form of disturbances.
As indicated earlier, all TSC teachers affected by the April 2022 transfers should collect their letters by Mid-April from their respective schools from sub-county offices so that they can plan themselves to report to the new work stations by April 27th.
TSC delocalization program has been a thorn in the flesh for teachers. Teachers have complained that the mass transfers are tearing families apart.
On the other hand, the transfer of teachers is a huge relief for teachers who are married and have declared their marital status, because the TSC ordered that they must be transferred to the same neighborhood as much as possible.
According to Teacher Service Commission (TSC) Chief Executive Nancy Macharia, this program is designed to ensure that all schools have a balanced teacher-to-student ratio before the start of the new academic calendar
The exercise, according to Commission, is intended to ensure that all schools have a balanced teacher-to-learner ratio before the start of the new academic year.
To be eligible for transfers, teachers must have served in a station for at least three years, or five years for North Eastern and other areas, respectively, since their first appointment unless otherwise authorized by the commission’s secretary. Priority should also be given to teachers who have applied for and are eligible for the transfer.
School headteachers and principals will be in charge of collecting and issuing transfers letters to their respective teachers in schools. TSC moved applications for transfers online platform. Since then, all applicants for transfers must be done online.
