Carrefour, which Majid Al Futtaim owns the exclusive rights to operate in Kenya, announces the launch of its 24/7 express grocery delivery service in Nairobi, Diani, and Nyali, the first of its kind in the country.
The service provides access to over 15,000 products and caters to the growing demand of customers who seek convenience and accessibility at early morning hours and late at night – between the hours of 9.00 p.m. and 8.00 a.m.
Carrefour’s 24/7 grocery delivery service covers key residential areas in Nairobi, Diani, and Nyali. Orders can be placed via the Carrefour application and delivery is within 60 to 90 minutes, at no additional fees.
Christophe Orcet, Regional Director – East Africa, Majid Al Futtaim Retail, commented: “At Majid Al Futtaim, we are committed to innovating to meet our customers’ evolving needs. We recognize the increasing demand for convenience in today’s fast-paced world, requiring brands to offer seamless digital experiences. Carrefour’s 24/7 delivery service is launched in response to high demand for late-night delivery options, and is a testament to our commitment to providing convenient, on-demand access to a wide range of products at affordable prices.”
Since its launch in 2020, Carrefour’s e-commerce platform has experienced substantial growth, marked by an expanded delivery radius and increased customer base. In addition, the retailer has constantly developed its app to meet the evolving customer needs with smart features, such as; the ‘Wishlist’, the ‘Buy Again’ tab – which stands out as a shopper’s favorite – and the enhanced checkout process, enabling customers to add extra items to a shopping cart without needing to exit the page.
Last year, the Carrefour app was honored with several industry awards including the “Best Mobile Initiative Award” during the 2024 eCommerce Day East Africa event, further showcasing the retailer’s commitment to innovation, competitive pricing, and community impact.
