Theresa May Hanging on A Thread, Is it a Brexit Beating?

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Theresa May has been left hanging by a thread after the British voters seemed to hammer her hard after they denied her the stronger mandate to continue the Brexit talks by denying her the majority in the House of Commons.

By Thursday, there was no clear winner in a parliamentary election with May’s party being wounded with deeming numbers. May, however, seems to be ready to fight on despite losing the majority with her Labour rival Jeremy Corbyn said she should step down.

From the 633 out of 650 seats declared by the electoral body, the Conservatives had garnered 308 seats and were therefore no longer able to reach the 326-mark they would need to command a parliamentary majority.

With talks of unprecedented complexity on Britain’s departure from the European Union due to start in just 10 days’ time, the pound sterling was hit by uncertainty over who would form the next government and over the fundamental direction Brexit would take.
