At least 60 percent of Africans will need to deposit at least 1.9 million shillings to obtain a visa for the United States of America, following a directive from President Donald Trump, as part of his “Visa Bond” Program.
In what many countries have described as a “Visa Ban,” given that the majority of Africans cannot afford to deposit that kind of money, the directive means millions of Africans visiting the United States will be hindered and shut out.
Uganda is among the countries that have been affected by the directive, although President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has not issued any statement.

According to the Trump administration, the directive will put an end to “illegal immigrants” who arrive in the US on a visitor’s visa and then disappear into the streets, never to be seen again, with the affected countries being the “notorious ones.”
Trump has been deporting millions of illegal immigrants from the United States, with thousands of them being dumped into countries they have never been to since birth. Trump also revoked the right for one to be a citizen just by birth.

At the same time, Donald Trump has stopped the processing and issuing of visas to all Tanzanian citizens with no clear reason given, although many say it is because of the recent elections in Tanzania, where Samia Suluhu Hassan awarded herself 98 percent of the votes.
