If someone stopped and asked you to explain to them what an air conditioner is and how it works, would you do it without utilizing the services of Google? Very few individuals would be able to define and tell what an air conditioner is and how it works.

Before coming with this piece, I asked at least 10 people on what an air conditioner is. Five of them just laughed and walked away while the rest talked of things that would make dictionary writers rethink their choices.

For those in the construction sector, I am sure you know what an air conditioner is. I am also sure you know how it works because if construction is your bread and butter, then you must always have in mind what works better for your clients. Right? Is it true that only those who deal with the construction must know about air conditioning while those who will be in touch of the product longer (consumers) remain aloof? No.

If you are planning to own a house, either by buying or building one or even renting, you must have knowledge about air conditioning. The greater part of 2019 was characterized by higher temperatures, not only in Kenya but in other countries too. People would sweat profusely just by choosing to remain in the house. Having a cool of fresh and cool air, like the breeze of an ocean when the temperatures outside are high is something everyone would love to have.

Back to my question, what is an air conditioner? An air conditioner, according to Wikipedia, is a system or machine that treats air in a defined, usually enclosed area via a refrigeration cycle in which warm air is removed and replaced with cooler air. Have you ever entered a residential building, an office or a factory, and suddenly realized a change of air from the scorching sun outside to a much cooler air within? Have you ever wondered what makes that possible? The air conditioner.

For those in the construction sector, I am sure you know that a complete system of heating ventilation is referred to as HVAC. Its purpose is to change adverse temperatures.

Some experts, while defining how an air conditioner work, say that in a central heating and cooling system, the air conditioner provides cool air through ductwork inside your home, office or factory by providing a process that draws out warm air inside, removing its heat and releasing a much fresh and cooler one.

If you are in the construction sector, either real estate of looking to own your own house and wondering where you will get genuine, energy-saving and effective air conditioners, you should worry no more as the global makers of air conditioners, Daikin are now in Kenya.
