The Kenya National Examination Council, KNEC, KCSE examination timetable is one of the key factors determining how the candidates will perform in their national examinations. It offers a comprehensive guide on the specific date and time each paper will be done

All Kenyan schools are currently in the process of submitting their students’ grades for each topic, a task that is due on July 31st for Milestone 1 and October 31st for Milestone 2.

The Grade six examination will be held between November 28th and 30th 2022, with 1.27 million candidates registered to take the first exam under the new curriculum which will see them enter junior secondary schools.

According to the KNEC timetable, all Candidates will take their first theory paper on FRIDAY, 02/12/2022, according to the KNEC calendar recently issued. Then On FRIDAY, December 23, 2022, will be the final exam day.

A list of all first session exam papers will be available at precisely 8:00 am. The second session’s examination papers will start when indicated on the timetable. The time allotted for reading through questions is included in that period unless otherwise specified in special paper instructions.

All teachers need to make sure that the candidates have read and are adhering to these rules and directions. All candidates should be made aware of the repercussions of misconduct or irregularities during exams

15 minutes prior to the start of the individual paper examination, get ready for the search outside the examination room and sit down at your desk or table. Per the schedule, the first session will start at 8:00 am, and the second session will follow at the same time.

Just in the unlikely event that a candidate is running late, they will be required to provide the Supervisor with a good reason. A candidate who is more than 30 minutes late will only ever be given a paper in extreme cases.

On August 1st, 2022, Prof. George Magoha, Cabinet Secretary for Education directed that all schools close by Tuesday, August 2nd, 2022 to prepare for the upcoming General Election on the 9th.

“The Country is scheduled to conduct the general election on the 9th of August 2022. I hereby convey the Government’s decision on the immediate closure of all basic learning institutions with effect from Tuesday 2nd August 2022, until Wednesday 10th August 2022 to ensure that preparations and conduct of the upcoming election are carried out seamlessly,” stated Magoha.

“We may have to sit down as stakeholders and see whether it will be fair to examine the children if they will have lost a considerable amount of time, I pray that that does not happen, these children have suffered enough,” Magoha said.
