Presidential Candidates to Battle Out For a Share of 19.6 Million Votes
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, IEBC, has released the final number of voters likely to take part in the forthcoming general elections on the 8th of August 2017.
The electoral body has said that it has 19,611,423 voters in its final register after expunging 88,602 dead voters following the recommendation of audit firm KPMG.
In its report, KPMG had said that more than one million voters might be dead but recommended for a proper verification with relevant authorities.
The two major political divides, National Super Alliance (NASA) and the ruling party, Jubilee, are out, guns blazing in an effort to get an elephant’s share of the 19.6 million votes.
NASA is targeting to have at least 10 million votes in its basket with Jubilee looking for a 70 percent plus 1 win against the opposition.
